Tapping into the trend of staying put rather than selling up, Room For Improvement saw Angus Purden and Dave Wellman helping people make the best of what they'd got.

DIY gurus Dave and Angus advised homeowners all over the country how to improve their homes with the minimum fuss – with skilled plasterer and general builder Dave demonstrating plenty of practical DIY tips and tricks that anyone could use.

From replacing a tap washer to creating a luxury tree house in the garden, and from bleeding a radiator to converting a house into flats, Room For Improvement made makeovers easy.

Angus Purden. Room For Improvement

About Angus Purden

Angus Purden was born and brought up in Scotland. His television career began behind the camera at Five News and GMTV, where he developed a solid journalistic background.

Now courting the lens, he has become a familiar face on our screens presenting a mix of shows across various networks. Having worked with Dave Wellman as the face of Channel 4's Room For Improvement (series 1-3) on which he lent his design, interior and property buying skills to ninety-five home renovators, he now fronts the BBC's Cash In The Attic.

A self-confessed property expert, Angus recently sold up in London's Notting Hill and returned to his native Glasgow where he is renovating two B-listed properties which clearly taste forgot.

His main interests include food, travel (he speaks fluent Italian), interiors, architecture and consumer issues.

About Dave Wellman

Despite being a qualified builder recognised by The Federation of Master Builders and an interior designer in much demand, Dave Wellman initially trained as an actor.

Since then, he has presented three series of Room for Improvement on Channel 4, as well as Carol Vorderman's Better Homes, BBC's How Does Your Wallpaper Hang and strands for This Morning and Funky Junk. He has also written three DIY and Interior Design books and written for countless Interior Design magazines.

Dave has just completed a new show, New Home DIY, as well as some short DIY films for GMTV.
