The rising price of fuel also sees a rise in petrol, diesel and oil theft

As fuel becomes more expensive, it has also become more valuable to thieves.
There is plenty of anecdotal evidence that thefts of petrol, diesel and heating oil are increasing, but Channel 4 News has now got the figures to prove it.
After surveying 32 police forces across the UK, this programme found substantial rises in thefts of heating oil and discovered that gangs are becoming ever more inventive in their methods.
