No 'artificial timetable' for British withdrawal from Iraq, says Brown

While Gordon Brown opposes a timetable for Iraqi exit, Barack Obama's promise for withdrawal in 16 months meets with approval in Baghdad.
Gordon Brown won't set a date for troop withdrawal from Iraq, but Barack Obama already has. The prime minister went to Iraq today and repeated his new mantra of no "artificial timetable" for British withdrawal.
But as he did the Iraqi prime minister welcomed Barack Obama's recent pledge to get American troops out within 16 months. The presidential candidate is on his first visit to Afghanistan today.
