A costly drug which may save the sight of thousands with eye-disease will be available to patients in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.
NICE, the body which approves drugs for use in the NHS, has now approved Lucentis.
This comes after it overturned its original guidance which said patients would have to go blind in one-eye before being allowed injections of the drug, which cost over £700 each.
In a separate decision, NICE, is also recommending screening some children genetically at risk of developing heart disease.
