British cyclist Chris Hoy has completed an Olympic hat-trick while team-mate Victoria Pendleton also won gold.

The Scot beat his team-mate Jason Kenny in the final of the men's sprint, claiming his third gold medal of the Games and Great Britain's third of the day.

Hoy won the best-of-three final 2-0 and becomes the first Briton to win three golds at a single Games in 100 years.

Pendleton won gold in the women's sprint, beating Anna Meares of Australia 2-0 in the final.

The two golds capped a remarkable performance by the British cyclists, who won seven golds in the velodrome.

They have taken Team GB's total of gold medals to 15, leaving them third in the overall medal table.
