Sailor Paul Goodison has claimed another Olympic gold medal for Britain.
The 30-year-old, who just missed out on a medal four years ago, won first place in the Laser class at the Yellow Sea regatta.
He had considered quitting the sport but went on to win the two Olympic test events and only needed to avoid finishing last in the final to take the gold.
Goodison opted to err on the side of caution and came in ninth out of ten boats, forcing Sweden's Rasmus Myrgren, the only man who could have denied him the gold medal, into last place.
He finished comfortably in first place in the standings with 63 points, eight ahead of Slovenia's Vasilij Zbogar, who took silver.
Goodison's gold increased Great Britain's medal haul in the sailing regatta to four, matching their pre-Games target and putting the team total just one behind the five that they achieved in Sydney and Athens.
Ben Ainslie and the crew of Sarah Ayton, Sarah Webb and Pippa Wilson won gold for Britain in the Finn and Yngling classes respectively on Sunday with Nick Rogers and Joe Glanfield adding a silver in the men's 470 class on Monday.
Team GB now has 13 golds and 28 medals in total, a tally that sees them remain in third place at the Beijing Games, behind China and the US.
