Biography

Gary Gibbon is political editor for Channel 4 News. He won the 2006 RTS Home News Award with Jon Snow for his scoop on the Attorney General's Legal Advice on Iraq, and revealed details of Blair's pre-War meeting with George Bush.

Gary succeeded Elinor Goodman as Channel 4 News' Political Editor in August 2005.

Prior to that, Gary had been our political correspondent since 1994. He joined the programme from the BBC in 1990 and was Political Producer from 1992-94.

He has worked on four general elections for Channel 4 News and covered the peace process in Northern Ireland for the programme.

His Channel 4 News interview with Peter Mandelson in 2001 triggered the Northern Ireland Secretary's second resignation from the Cabinet.

In 2006 he won the RTS Home News Award with Jon Snow for their scoop in revealing the Attorney-General's legal advice on Iraq.

He was also responsible for breaking details of pre-Iraq war White House meeting between Tony Blair and George Bush.
